Impressive winner for Soft Falling Rain

Wilgerbosdrift’s deceased stallion Soft Falling Rain looks to have come up with a well above average sort in the form of Nafoorah.
The latter, who, like Soft Falling Rain himself, races for Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid al Maktoum, made it two wins from just three starts when scoring an impressive win at the Vaal on Thursday afternoon.

Nafoorah, a three-year-old gelding trained by Mike de Kock, romped home under jockey Callan Murray to win as he liked by two and a quarter lengths.
Bred by his owner, Nafoorah had won impressively on debut, before going on to finish second, on his only other outing, to Astrix -a runner in Saturday’s G2 Joburg Spring Challenge.

Out of the Commands mare Anhaar, Nafoorah is one of several smart three-year-olds representing Soft Falling Rain this year.
Others include G1 Golden Horse Medallion runner up Pray For Rain, the stakes placed Eternal Hope and Sophomore Sprint third Purple Cloud.

The Equus Champion 2YO Colt of 2012, Soft Falling Rain has seven lots on this year’s Emperors Palace National 2YO Sale- including a half-brother (Lot 185) to G1 SA Derby winner Out Of Your League, and a colt (Lot 198) whose dual winning dam is a half-sister to G2 winning millionaire Trophy Wife.
