Buffalo Bill Cody son wows in Model Man Mile

Wilgerbosdrift’s exciting young stallion Buffalo Bill Cody looks to have come up with a very smart son in the form of Artist’s Model.

The latter put up a sparkling display when romping home to a facile win in the Model Man Mile (Non-Black Type) at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Sunday.

Trained, like his sire, by Mike de Kock, Artist’s Model turned Sunday’s race into a one-horse contest, with the gelded three-year-old sauntering home to win by nearly three and three-quarter lengths.

Bred by Wilgerbosdrift & Mauritzfontein, the promising Artist’s Model has now won twice from just four starts.
Artist’s Model, ridden to victory by Muzi Yeni, is out of the Belong To Me mare Milk And Honey.

Buffalo Bill Cody had just three runners this weekend, but they included speedy stakes winner Pistol Pete, who ran second at Turffontein on Saturday, and Thomas Jenkins, who finished third at Hollywoodbets Durbanville on the same card.
Winner of six of just ten starts, Buffalo Bill Cody was the second Leading First Season Sire in South Africa in 2023-2024, despite having just 11 starters last season.
