HIGH HOPES FOR BUFFALO BILL CODY RUNNERS

Wilgerbosdrift’s exciting resident sire Buffalo Bill Cody looks poised to have another good season in 2025-2026.
The son of Redoute’s Choice has at least two very smart sorts representing him this season in the form of Buffalo Storm Cody and Rachel Wall.

The former, winner of last season’s G1 Mercury Sprint, showed his class when he won the Betway Summer Cup 29 November Conditions Plate (1160m) at Turffontein on Sunday. Under Richard Fourie, the gelding, who was having his first start since his Mercury Sprint triumph in July, stormed home to score a shade cosily by a length, while accounting for high-class performers Fire Attack, Almond Sea, Chasing Happiness and Legend Of Arthur.

Trained by Tony Peter, the Kestorm Investments owned Buffalo Storm Cody has won six of 13 starts for earnings of R1 106 250. Bred by Narrow Creek Stud, Buffalo Storm Cody is out of the Trippi mare Musical Romance.

Feature races also appear to beckon for promising Buffalo Bill Cody filly Rachel Wall, who caught the eye when she won at the Vaal on Tuesday.
