Wilgerbosdrift’s popular young stallion, and former National Sale graduate, Hawwaam made a big impression with his first yearlings at the 2024 National Yearling Sale.Yearlings by Hawwaam made up to R5 000 000 at the recent National Sale, with Hawwaam having eight lots to sell for an aggregate of R8.325 million.
Hawwaam yearlings averaged an impressive R1 040 625 at the sale, a higher average than such notable stallions as Gimmethegreenlight, Rafeef, What A Winter, and Querari.
His top lot sold was the Wilgerbosdrift consigned colt Sparkling Rose (Lot 129), who was knocked down to the Hollywood Syndicate for R5 000 000 –the third top lot of the sale.
Other yearlings by Hawwaam made R800 000, R725 000 and R475 000 respectively.
Hawwaam’s outstanding dam Halfway To Heaven also made her presence felt at this year’s National Yearling Sale.
A Vercingetorix three-part brother Hawwaam was knocked down to SRB Plattner Farming for R2 800 000.
Consigned to the sale by Wilgerbosdrift, the colt, called Rainbow Crossing, also numbers 2020-2021 Horse Of The Year Rainbow Bridge and dual G1 winner Golden Ducat as half-brothers.
His dam Halfway To Heaven has enjoyed magnificent commercial success, with her offspring having made up to R7 000 000 in the sales ring.
