Graded stakes success for Fire Away relative

Wilgerbosdrift’s blue blooded War Front horse Fire Away, whose half-sister Vigilantes Way won the recent Tropical Park Oaks, gained yet a further boost to his stellar pedigree on Saturday.

Six-year-old Title Ready, who shares his outstanding granddam Personal Ensign with Fire Away, picked up the biggest race of his career when he won the G3 Louisiana Stakes at Fair Grounds over the weekend.

A son of More Than Ready, and half-brother to G3 Iowa Oaks winner Seeking The Title (herself dam of G1 Clark Handicap winner Seeking The Soul), he was rated much closer to the leaders in fourth while chasing pedestrian fractions in Saturday’s race. Under jockey Brian Hernandez, Title Ready was still able to reel in front-runner Blackberry Wine in the final furlong and earned his first career stakes win by 1 1/4 lengths.

Trained by Dallas Stewart, Title Ready has now five wins to his name and has banked over $650 000 in earnings.

His close relative Fire Away, a War Front half-brother to exciting young sire Mr Speaker, was a high-class racehorse in his own right, winning seven times including the G3 Dixie Stakes.
