Wilgerbosdrift’s inform stallion Flower Alley has had a wonderful season in 2021-2022, with his daughters in particular making a big impression on the South African racetracks, and Flower Alley made more headlines at the recently held Highveld Racing Awards.
Flower Alley’s unbeaten daughter Maharanee was crowned Champion 2 Year Old Filly for the Highveld season just past, with the Paul Peter trained filly having won all three of her starts this season.
A two and a half length winner on debut, Maharanee followed that smart performance up with a devastating victory over 1200 metres, before she crowned her career, thus far, with a sparkling, three and three-quarter length win in the G2 4Racing SA Fillies Nursery.
Bred by Wilgerbosdrift & Mauritzfontein, Maharanee is out of the Tiger Ridge mare Indira.
The filly was an R80 000 buy from the 2021 August Two Year Old Sale and Maharanee has already earned over R320 000 in prize money.
She is one of 31 stakes winners for Flower Alley, whose other flagbearers this season include G1 HSH Princess Charlene Empress Club Stakes winner Princess Calla.
