Flower Alley daughter makes her mark at Keeneland

Wilgerbosdrift’s G1 winning stallion Flower Alley made his presence felt as a broodmare sire at the opening session of Book 2 of  the 2021 Keeneland September Yearling Sale.

His daughter My Wandy’s Girl had a Curlin colt (Hip 466) fetch $850 000 to the bid of Donato Lanni, who was bidding on behalf of SF Bloodstock, Starlight Racing and Madaket Stables.

The yearling was consigned by Francis and Barbara Vanlangendonck’s Summerfield on behalf of breeder

Stonestreet.”He’s a very well-bred horse. He’s by Curlin, a stallion we really admire and out of a mare that looks like she has the potential to be a very good mare at this point,” said SF’s Tom Ryan.

A champion in Puerto Rico, My Wandy’s Girl won 15 races, including the G2 Barbara Fritchie Handicap in North America, and earned over $630 000 in prize money.

My Wandy’s Girl, whose two-year-old son My Prankster romped home to a ten length debut win, is out of the Unbridled’s Song mare Unbridled Secret.

My Wandy’s Girl is one of more than 50 black type horses for Flower Alley, also responsible for Kentucky Derby/Preakness Stakes winning champion I’ll Have Another.
