Wilgerbosdrift’s well bred sire Buffalo Bill Cody looks to have a smart son to his name in the form of Buffalo Storm Cody. The latter made it three wins in a row when he won the eighth race at Turffontein on Tuesday.
Trained by Tony Peter, three-year-old Buffalo Storm Cody showed plenty of heart in winning the Champion Sprinter (1000-1200m): William Robertson Pinnacle Stakes (1160m).
Under Gavin Lerena, the Buffalo Bill Cody gelding dug down deep to best runner up Quantum Theory by a long head.
A tilt at the G3 Post Merchants could be next for the progressive Buffalo Storm Cody, who has won four of ten starts including the Mythical Flight Sprint (Non-Black Type).
Bred by Narrow Creek Stud, Buffalo Storm Cody (unplaced just once thus far) is out of the Trippi mare Musical Romance.
He hails from the first crop of his sire Buffalo Bill Cody, with this crop also producing G3 Betway Lebelo Sprint winner Pistol Pete and G3 Betway Graham Beck Stakes runner up Wolf Mountain.
Buffalo Bill Cody is also the sire of exciting two-year-old Rachel Wall, who runs in Sunday’s Highveld Winter Juvenile Fillies Stakes.
