Weekend treble for Flower Alley

Wilgerbosdrift’s exciting sire Flower Alley had two more winners to his credit this weekend, when enjoying a double in North America.

Two sons of Flower Alley scored at Presque Isle Downs on Friday, with Rstewball scoring over 1670m by a neck, and Gasprom justifying short-priced favouritism to score by a length and a quarter over 1600m on the same card.

The 2005 G1 Travers Stakes winner was back in the winners enclosure when his very smart daughter Sky Flower romped home to score a 7.5length victory, at Presque Isle Downs, on Sunday.

Sky Flower, who won as she liked over the 1300m trip, has now won eight times from just 14 outings.

A proven G1 sire, Flower Alley’s best offspring include champions I’ll Have Another, Lukes Alley and My Wandy’s Girl, as well as G1 Ashland Stakes winner Lilacs And Lace.

His first South African crop are yearlings in 2018.
