TWO OUT OF TWO FOR MABLE SYRUP

Wilgerbosdrift bred and owned filly Mable Syrup made it two wins from as many outings when scoring at Turffontein on Saturday.
Trained by Mike de Kock, the lightly raced three-year-old ran on smartly under Callan Murray to register a 0.4length win over more experienced rival Star Profile, over 1400 metres.
It was another 3.4 lengths away to third place finisher Inthepurplerain.

Bred by Wilgerbosdrift and Mauritzfontein, Mable Syrup, who won first up over 1160m, is a daughter of champion sire Silvano and G3 Acacia Handicap winner Milk And Honey.

Wilgerbosdrift bred horses have been in scintillating form of late, with the farm’s recent star graduates including G2 Gauteng Ipi Tombe Challenge winner Nother Russia, Listed Sunshine Sweepstake Algoa Cup winner Nebula and G3 Hi-Fi Coporation Fillies Mile winner Folk Dance.

Another high-class racehorse bred at the farm is Nassa, who is set to take his place in the G1 LONGINES Hong Kong Cup at Sha Tin this Sunday.
