Two out of three for Flower Alley filly

Flower Fashion, a daughter of Wilgerbosdrift’s exciting young sire Flower Alley, made it two wins from just three outings when she landed the Prix d’Orsay (a conditions race for 3yo fillies) at Maisons-Laffitte on Tuesday afternoon.

The 3yo filly, who had won by 3.5 lengths first time out, was well away and asserted for the lead. Holding sway thereafter, the 123-10 chance came under pressure when threatened with 300 metres remaining and was pushed out to prevail by 1 1/4 lengths from Cheries Amours (Fr) (Air Chief Marshal {Ire}).

Flower Fashion continues the good run of form enjoyed by daughter of Flower Alley, with the sires’ Splash Hit having won last weekend’s Cajun Miss Stakes to make it win number three from just four outings.

One of 18 G1 winners for US champion sire Distorted Humor (whose offspring have earned over $123 million), former G1 Travers Stakes winner Flower Alley’s previous notable offspring include the champions I’ll Have Another, Lukes Alley, and My Wandy’s Girl.

Flower Alley’s first South African yearlings go on sale in 2018.
