Tuesday double for Flower Alley

Wilgerbosdrift’s exciting sire Flower Alley has been enjoying a tremendous run of success of late, and the 2005 Gr1 Travers Stakes winner was at it again on Tuesday.

His three-year-old sons Limit Your Losses and Greyflower both won their respective races to give Flower Alley a memorable Tuesday double.

Limit Your Losses, who hails from the yard of Brett Kelly, powered home to break his maiden over 1100 metres by 1.25 lengths over hot favourite Canyon Creed.

Bred on the same Flower Alley/Kris S cross as brilliant G1 Pattison Canadian International winner Bullards Alley, Limit Your Losses, who was making just his second career outing, is out of the Kris S mare Day’s Sunset.

Flower Alley’s other winner on the day came in the form of the gelded Greyflower- also making his second racetrack outing. Greyflower romped home to score a 7.75 length maiden win over a mile on the dirt track at Will Rogers Downs. The gelding is out of Rockport Harbor mare Jewel Of Rockport.

Also sire of recent stakes winner Sky Flower, Flower Alley is a proven top class sire whose offspring have banked over $34 million in prize money.

His most notable runners include Gr1 Kentucky Derby/Preakness Stakes winning champion I’ll Have Another, the above mentioned Bullards Alley, and Canadian champion Lukes Alley.

His Gr1 Ashland Stakes winning daughter Lilacs And Lace is the dam of champion filly and 2018 Japanese classic hope Lucky Lilac.

Flower Alley has five lots on the 2018 April Yearling Sale and 33 yearlings on offer at the 2018 Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale.
