Seven in a row for Flower Alley filly

Wilgerbosdrift’s very much inform stallion Flower Alley looks to have come up with a very talented daughter in the form of Santa Therese.
The latter made it seven wins in a row when scoring a convincing win at Fairview on Friday afternoon.

Trained by Alan Greeff, four-year-old Santa Therese was sent off a well backed favourite for Friday’s Tellytrack.com Pinnacle Stakes (1400m). Under a finely timed ride from Greg Cheyne, the Flower Alley filly flew up late to score a cosy three-parts of a length, while conceding runner up Encryption 4kgs.

In the process, Santa Therese provided her breeders Wilgerbosdrift & Mauritzfontein with one of their three wins on Friday’s Fairview card.

Now a winner of eight of her ten starts (the filly has wins in all of the Listed Jockey Club Stakes, Listed East Cape Paddock Stakes and Listed Breeders Guineas to her name), Santa Therese was a R160 000 buy from the 2019 National Yearling Sale.

Her G1 Travers Stakes winning sire Flower Alley has been in tremendous form of late, with the son of Distorted Humor responsible for a stream of eye catching local winners of late (his son Bayberry also caught the eye when finishing fourth in Friday’s Listed Nelson Mandela Bay Racing Algoa Cup).

Sire of more than 50 black type horses and counting, Flower Alley has four lots on offer at the 2021 November Two Year Old Sale.
