MONDAY DOUBLE FOR FLOWER ALLEY

Wilgerbosdrift’s inform stallion Flower Alley continues to churn out the winners, and the son of Distorted Humor supplied another two winners at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Monday.
Flower Alley’s first success on Monday came when his Gareth Van Zyl trained son Iron Bark ran out a convincing winner of the first race, the All To Come Maiden Plate (1200m).

Under S’Manga Khumalo, the gelded three-year-old stayed on strongly to shed his maiden by a long neck.
Bred by Dr Ian Heyns, Iron Bark had finished third and second respectively in his two previous starts.

His sire came up with a smart looking first-timer when Flower Alley filly Evening Primrose made a winning debut to claim Monday’s fourth race, the Gold Circle Racing Youtube Channel Maiden Plate (1600m).
Also ridden by S’Manga Khumalo, the Gareth Van Zyl trained filly exploded through, while coming from last, to win going away by a neck.

Bred by Wilgerbosdrift & Mauritzfontein, Evening Primrose is out of the Dynasty mare Noor.

Her sire Flower Alley, broodmare sire of G1 winners Lucky Lilac and Smooth Like Strait, is the sire of more than 50 black type horses, including Kentucky Derby winning champion I’ll Have Another and fellow champions Lukes Alley and My Wandy’s Girl.
