I’LL HAVE ANOTHER TAKES HIGH RANK IN JAPAN

Former US Champion I’ll Have Another, a son of Wilgerbosdrift’s exciting sire Flower Alley, made a very promising start to his stud career with his first crop of 2yos last season.
The 2012 G1 Kentucky Derby ended 2016 as Japan’s second Leading First Crop Sire by prize money, finishing behind only Rulership on the First Crop Sires List.

I’ll Have Another was represented by 16 individual first crop winners last year, who notched up 19 wins in 2016 and they earned more than ¥178 000 000 in prize money.

The champion finished above such outstanding racehorses as Deep Brillante (G1Japanese Derby), Summer Bird (US Champion), and fellow Kentucky Derby winner Street Sense.

I’ll Have Another was an exceptional racehorse who was named the Eclipse Champion 3YO Male of 2012. He won five of just seven outings, banked over $2.6 million in stakes, and won a trio of G1 events –the Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes and Santa Anita Derby respectively.

He was sold to Japan for a reported $10 000 000 after injury prevented him from running in the G1 Belmont Stakes.

His sire Flower Alley, who was represented by his first crop of South African foals last year, has been represented by 30 horses to date, including champions I’ll Have Another, Lukes Alley and My Wandy’s Gal.
