Flower Alley filly maintains her unbeaten record

Wilgerbosdrift’s inform sire Flower Alley looks to have an exciting prospect on his hands in the form of Maharanee.

The latter made it two wins from two starts when making much of the running to land Thursday’s #ThisIsRacing Welcomes You Juvenile Plate (1200m) at the Vaal.
Under Warren Kennedy, the Paul Peter trained two-year-old was quickly away and always travelling well in Thursday’s race.

Coming to the final stages, Maharanee was still travelling powerfully, and she stayed on well to score impressively by three and a quarter lengths.

Bred by Wilgerbosdrift & Mauritzfontein, the Flower Alley filly had won her only previous outing when scoring a facile win at Turffontein back in March.

Out of the Tiger Ridge mare Indira, Maharanee was an R80 000 buy from the 2021 August Two Year Old Sale.

She is one of three two-year-old winners this season thus far for Flower Alley, also responsible for this season’s promising two-year-old and Listed Storm Bird Stakes runner up Arividicio.

Broodmare sire of impressive recent G1 Arkansas Derby winner Cyberknife (a leading contender for the Kentucky Derby this year), Flower Alley has 11 lots on offer at the upcoming National Yearling Sale, including a half-sister (Lot 393) to impressive recent G3 Byerley Turk winner Waterberry Lane.
