Flower Alley filly for Dance Smartly Stakes

Wilgerbosdrift’s popular resident sire Flower Alley will be represented by a runner in the G2 Dance Smartly Stakes at Woodbine this Saturday.

Run on the same day as the Canadian classic Queen’s Plate, the Dance Smartly is open to fillies and mares and is contested over 2000m on turf.

Flower Alley’s representative is Flower Fashion, a French bred four-year-old who has won three of her nine starts and who scored a neck win over 2000m at Belmont Park last time out.

She will be opposed by nine rivals, including G1 Del Mar Oaks winner Dream Dancing and Queen’s Plate winner Holy Helena.

Her Travers Stakes winning sire has been enjoying another good season in 2018, with his international winners including San Juan Capistrano hero Nessy.

Flower Alley, the only stallion at stud in South Africa to have sired a Kentucky Derby winner, has seven lots on offer at next week’s KZN Yearling Sale, including a half-brother to last year’s KZN Sales’ topper.
