Flower Alley daughter maintains her unbeaten record

Wilgerbosdrift’s successful resident sire Flower Alley looks to have another useful sort on his hands in the form of Rosenwind.

The latter, a three-year-old filly bred by Wilgerbosdrift & Mauritzfontein, made it two wins from two starts when scoring an eye catching win at the Vaal on Thursday.

The Botes/Vosloo trained Rosenwind came into Thursday’s TAB Telebet 0861 000 822 Novice Handicap (1200m) having won her only other start and she duly followed up again with a smart effort.

Under S’Manga Khumalo, the three-year-old came from the clouds in Thursday’s sprint and got up on the line to win by a short head.

Out of the French Deputy mare Malmaison, Rosenwind had caught the eye when scoring over 1200m on debut.

Her G1 Travers Stakes winning sire Flower Alley is no stranger to siring high-class fillies, with the son of Distorted Humor also responsible for G1 winning filly Lilacs And Lace, and the likes of Princess Calla, Santa Therese, Marygold, and champion My Wandy’s Girl.

Flower Alley, whose runners have earned over $43 million, has a single lot on the upcoming CTS Ready To Run Sale and four lots on the November Two Year Old Sale.
