BSA SALES CUP SUCCESS FOR FLOWER ALLEY

Wilgerbosdrift’s inform stallion Flower Alley made the perfect start at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Saturday when his two-year-old daughter Feather Boa captured the first race of the day, the Bloodstock SA Sales Cup (1300m), in off the pace fashion.
Runner up last time out , the Stuart Pettigrew trained filly broke her maiden in smart fashion in Saturday’s R400 000 contest.

Under Richard Fourie, Feather Boa came with a late rattle to land Saturday’s first prize of R180 000 by nearly half a length.
It was a smart win from Feather Boa, who was not only making her first start at Greyville but who had a wide draw of 12 to overcome.

Bred by Wilgerbosdrift & Mauritzfontein, Feather Boa was a R200 000 buy from the 2021 August Two Year Old Sale.

Saturday’s BSA Sales Cup winner was produced by the Silvano mare Osprey.

Feather Boa is, however, but one of several exciting two-year-olds representing former Travers Stakes winner Flower Alley this season. Others include G2 4Racing SA Fillies Nursery queen Maharanee, Storm Bird Stakes runner up Arividicio, and SA Fillies Nursery third place-getter None Other.

A son of champion sire Distorted Humor, Flower Alley has had an excellent season in 2021-2022 thus far, with his six stakes winners this season thus far having won eight black type races and Flower Alley’s local gallopers have already banked more than R9 million for the current South African season.
