Wilgerbosdrift’s exciting, homebred champion Hawwaam continues to come up with promising looking winners this season. His latest runner to catch the eye was his daughter Russian Nobility, who made a winning debut at Turffontein on Thursday.
Trained by Lucky Houdalakis, three-year-old Russian Nobility stormed home, under Craig Zackey, to win the #Youcanbetonus! Maiden Plate (F & M) (1200m) by more than two and three quarter lengths.
Bred by Wilgerbosdrift & Mauritzfontein, the daughter of Hawwaam races for Stone Hill Stud and Mr Pascoe.
The promising Russian Nobility, who is out of the Windrush mare Tatiana, was a R400 000 purchase from the 2024 August Two Year Old Sale. She joins a growing list of smart looking winners to have emerged from champion Hawwaam’s first crop. Other promising sorts to have emerged from this crop include Hah Lah Lah, Perfect Miracle, Pivotal Role, Touched By Angels and Delta Pride. The latter holds entries for both the G2 Cape Punters Cup and G1 Hollywoodbets Cape Guineas.
The five time G1 winning Hawwaam also gained a handsome boost to his pedigree recently when his close relative Princess Of Gaul won the G2 Western Cape Fillies Championship.
