Ibhayi Stakes success for Buffalo Bill Cody

Wilgerbosdrift’s promising young stallion Buffalo Bill Cody has some very promising three-year-olds this season.
His current crop of sophomores include the progressive Buffalo Bill, who made it three wins in a row when he won the Listed Ibhayi Stakes at Fairview on Friday.
Under a confident ride from Wayne Agrella, the Tara Laing trained gelding sat just off the pace for much of the running.
However, when asked the question, Buffalo Bill unleashed a fine turn of foot which saw the son of Buffalo Bill Cody storm away to win his biggest race to date by a deceptively easy two and a quarter lengths.

Bred by 334 Stud, Buffalo Bill has won five of just nine starts and has won four of his last five outings.

The gelding is out of the Western Winter mare Nesspresso.

Buffalo Bill is a member of his sire’s second crop of runners, with Buffalo Bill Cody’s small first crop headed by G1 Mercury Sprint winner Buffalo Storm Cody and multiple graded stakes winner Pistol Pete.

Buffalo Bill Cody’s second crop includes not only Buffalo Bill but also the smart performers One Eye On Vegas, Rifle Queen and Yippee Kiyay.
The son of Redoute’s Choice has six lots on offer at the Cape Yearling Sale, and three lots on sale at the Premier Yearling Sale.
