KILDONAN SISTER TOPS MARE SALE

Wilgerbosdrift bred and consigned the sales topping mare at Thursday’s Cape Mare Sale, held for a first time at the magnificent Mistico Equestrian Centre near Paarl.

Firth Of Tay was knocked down to John Kramer for R300 000 to officially top the 2017 Mare Sale.

Catalogued as lot 132, Firth Of Tay is a winning own sister to Equus Champion 2YO Kildonan, who, from limited opportunities at stud has sired the high class fillies Rosier and Beach Goddess.

Fifth of Tay, who sold in foal to champion sire Trippi, has herself produced 2 winners to date, including three time winner and Listed Jamaica Handicap third Nima.

This is the same family as G1 SA Derby winner Kale, ill-fated Guineas winner Dunsinane and this season’s G1 Betting World Cape Flying Championship winner Carry On Alice.
