JUVENILE DOUBLE FOR WILGERBOSDRIFT

Wilgerbosdrift, in partnership with Mauritzfontein, enjoyed a notable two-year-old strike at Turffontein last Sunday.
The farm were responsible for breeding both the first and second race winners, scoring with Puget Sound and Folk Dance respectively.

Puget Sound, who races for the Onamission Syndicate, made it two wins from just three outings when he scored by three parts of a length for jockey Piere Strydom. Trained by Mike de Kock, Puget Sound was a R25 000 bargain buy from last year’s CTS August Two-Year-Old Sale.

He is one of 14 juvenile winners for the ill-fated sire Sail From Seattle this season, and is out of Trempolino’s three time winning daughter La Bella Donna.

Sunday also saw Folk Dance maintained her unbeaten record when scoring for trainer Paul Peter and jockey JP Van Der Merwe over 1450m. The daughter of Tiger Ridge, a R100 000 purchase from last year’s National Sale, had won her only start when successful over 1200m at Turffontein back in March.

She races for Messrs Myeni and O’Brien, in partnership with the Hyperpaint Syndicate.
