FLOWER ALLEY TOPS AT TWO YEAR OLD SALE

Wilgerbosdrift’s exciting resident stallion Flower Alley made more positive news last week.
The former G1 Travers Stakes winner was the Leading Sire (by Aggregate) at the 2018 National Two Year Old Sale, which took place in Germiston last Thursday and Friday.

Flower Alley had 11 of his 13 offered lots sell for R2 145 000, with the top lot being Treasure Trove (Lot 101).

The latter, a colt consigned by Wilgerbosdrift, was knocked down to Team G Racing for R450 000, making Treasure Trove the second top colt sold at this year’s National Two Year Old Sale.

Flower Alley’s first South African crop, set to race later this season, have made a very positive impact in various sales rings around the country.

The son of Distorted Humor also fared well at this year’s Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale, where yearlings by Flower Alley made up to R1 500 000 and averaged R518 750 (at the National Sale’s first session).

Flower Alley, a half-brother to two G1 winners in Japan, has currently a total of nearly 40 stakes horses to his credit, notably Kentucky Derby/Preakness Stakes winning champion I’ll Have Another.
