Fire Away relative makes waves at Keeneland

A colt from the same family as Wilgerbosdrift’s exciting prospect Fire Away made waves on the first day of the 2019 Keeneland’s Horses Of All Ages Sale which commenced on Monday.
Sired by top sire and G1 Cashcall Futurity winner Into Mischief, the chestnut colt (Lot 39) made $375 000 on Monday –which made the Taylor Made Sales Agency consigned (as Agent) colt the top yearling sold on Monday.

The son of Into Mischief, who was sold to Ardfield Bloodstock, is out of the stakes placed Distorted Humor mare Mary Rita –whose second dam is unbeaten champion, and US Broodmare Of The Year in 1996, Personal Ensign.

The latter, whose progeny include three G1 winners notably Breeders’ Cup winner My Flag, also ranks as the second dam of Dixie Stakes winner Fire Away (by War Front), and is also the fourth dam of the exciting three-year-old of 2019, Breaking The Rules.

Breaking The Rules, also a son of outstanding sire War Front, has won four of his eight starts thus far including the Tropical Park Derby.

Other notable members of this outstanding family include Fire Away’s Belmont Derby winning half-brother Mr Speaker, and G1 Clark Handicap winner Seeking The Soul –who was runner up in the 2018 G1 Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile.
