100% strike rate for Flower Alley

Wilgerbosdrift’s in-form sire Flower Alley enjoyed a perfect 100% strike rate at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Wednesday when his only runner on the card ran out an impressive winner of the day’s sixth race.

The Wicklow Stud bred three-year-old Flower Alley filly Smiley Kylie gave her sire the perfect result when she scored a convincing three-parts of a length win over 1200m for trainer Gareth Van Zyl and jockey Warren Kennedy.
Smiley Kylie, who is out of the Captain Al mare Yourethetops, has now won two of only four starts, with the filly having shed her maiden at just the second time of asking.

(She had run second to subsequent champion and G1 winner Gabor when making her official debut).

Smiley Kylie is one of 17 winners to have emerged from former G1 Travers Stakes winner Flower Alley’s first crop thus far.

Flower Alley has four lots on offer at Sunday’s Emperors Palace Ready To Run Sale, and a further five two-year-olds on offer at the 2019 CTS Ready To Run Sale later this month.
